These days, Seth is all about the mixed drinks.  We have stocked up the bar and acquired all the assorted accoutrements that are required to mix drinks.  Now we are on the lookout for antique cordial and champagne glasses, the collection is still small. But, the fun is in the hunt and search. Seth likes to practice mixing and I’m his guinea pig, so to speak.  Below are a series of photos from Sunday afternoon, where Seth is trying to perfect one of our favorite drinks, Laughing Water. I think it’s getting close to perfection.

If you are interested, the drink consists of rye, vermouth, pineapple juice, lemon and a dusting of nutmeg.

  • Janice says:

I love these so much :) So perfect. The light from your window is amazing, as always!

  • Anna says:

My husband is all about this as well recently
For his wedding anniversary this year I got him an antique grandmother clock with shelving built into the middle section and a tiny cupboard underneath and filled it with various things to make drinks as well as several vintage cocktail books. It makes me so happy to see other people enjoying mixed drinks like this :)

  • David says:

When my daughter gets married, I know who to ask. After shooting the wedding, Seth can tend bar. :)

  • cindy says:

    David…talk about multitasking. LOL.

  • One of the only times in life when being a guinea pig is fun. I love the simple elegance of this cocktail. So beautiful.

  • Jeong says:

Amazing!! i feel like i can taste it just with my eyes !!!

  • Joelynne says:

I would carry my camera in this bag, which I know seems super obvious, but wait! I have three camera bags and rarely use any of them because they are too heavy, too hard to get into, and straight up fugly. I would love a bag that I would actually carry my camera in at all times, plus pop some gum, film, dog leash, kids stuff, ipod, whatevs, and look stylish.

  • Anande says:

Ooh, what an awesome giveaway! I have been wanting an *emera bag for so long! Gorgeous photos, too. If I win, I will be jumping for joy, just like that guy :D

This year marks Emma’s first Junior Prom.  Even though she went last year, this is “her” Junior Prom.  For 2011, Emma’s high school combined the Junior and Senior prom, I guess that’s the trend at the moment. Not sure though.

I would go into details about finding the dress, shoes, hairstyle. But, it would be way too long of a post.  In the end, it all worked out. What a relief.

Here are a few of the pre-prom portraits. Enjoy!

  • Kim says:

Aww. Sweet photos, Cindy! The bokeh is outta control (in a good way, of course!) in some of these. Unfortunately I never went to my prom because I was decidedly too punk rock for proms, heh. Hope Emma had a good time. :)

  • jodi says:

so sweet!! the girls look stunning! did that kid really wear a hat to prom, though?

  • Alice says:

so gorgeous! emma and her friends are gonna have the BEST prom portraits in history haha. and what a classy dress – wish i had the sense back then to wear something simple like that! i remember my dress was all sorts of peacock greens/turquoise and i’ve never touched it since that night hahah.

  • nicolle says:

    these are all adorable!

  • David says:

    A very nice set.

Agree with Jodi about the hat. It should’ve been left at home.

  • Christina says:

  • Jennifer White says:

Seems like so long ago for me… loving the peacock feather in her corsage.

  • Valerie Brown says:

Your girl is so pretty! The image of her looking over her shoulder is so priceless. The most fun part of going to prom that I can recall was the dress & hair. :)

  • Jenny says:

    LOVE the toms!!!

  • aw, really sweet. emma is beautiful as ever!

  • wow cindy. you work magic with a camera in hand!
