I was a gifted a box of expired Polaroid Spectra film from Dave Handler of Photoworks. Sigh. The colors, and not having to treat the print with kid gloves when it spits out of the camera.

These photos were shot at sunset.

These two, one from Melbourne (Linda) and the other from NYC (Jen), were just recently out for a visit. There was much laughter and good food. Of course, photos too. It was Jen’s first time in San Francisco, so on her last night, we took her to Crissy Field to see the Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge and light did not disappoint. Linda is a seasoned San Francisco visitor, there wasn’t the aggressive need to site see, we laid low and enjoyed each other’s company. I love both dearly.

I had the pleasure and honor of recently attending Paul Madonna’s open art studio. Paul Madonna, is a local artist and a poet. Read his books and you’ll understand what I mean by poet. Paul is so down to earth and kind, allowing me take photos of his studio and home. What a treat! We’ve been fans for more than a few years and have both this books. Thank goodness for mutual friends.

Impossible USA Film

I’ve recently gotten my hands on the new PX70 Color Protection Film from Impossible USA. The new Color Protection film doesn’t require protection from light for it to develop, unlike the previous version. It does take about 30 to 40 minutes to develop. Out of habit, I still protect the film once it has ejected out of the camera by placing it in between pages of a book. Which works great, but sometimes, I forget all about the photo until much later. No harm though.

So far, I really love the color tones. At times it’s very yellow and warm and other times, there’s a hint of cyan. I’m still experimenting with the best way to shoot with this film and using the Lighten/Darken wheel on the SX70 camera. All the photos are dreamy and that’s the charm of instant film.
