some images from a day with my lovely friend Chrystine. our kids play together, we talk about photography, food, coffee, tea and photography. it’s always fun and relaxing. Chrystine is a fellow photographer, it’s natural we bring out the cameras, set up a few scenes to shoot or we just let it happen  with kids running around. sometimes, a certain cat will get in on the photo action too.

You said photography twice ;) Very nice photos – I love that one of my bonsai succulent and Rollei is so sweet. Also, I think I like Kodak just a smidge more than Fuji.

There are a couple of public gardens that I love to stroll through and photograph. I had some time to spare before a meeting a couple of weeks ago and visited a favorite down on the Peninsula, it was late morning and very bright out, but I made the best of it and shot a roll on my Hasselblad.  I would love to get back to the garden, during magic hour light when the sun isn’t shinning down so harsh and the light is even.

  • Vickie says:

beautiful photos, I can only imagine how amazing this place would be at magic hour.

  • Corinne says:

these photos are still wonderful (the last is my favorite!) even with the “harsh” light. :)

  • Andrea says:

Such a beautiful garden to escape to. Now, if I can make my garden look this way too. :)

    Lovely photos!!!

Recently, I spent an afternoon with my lovely friend Chrystine, we’ve known each other since the early days of Flickr when she still lived on the East Coast. She now resides in the South Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. We don’t get together as often as I would like, but I’m hoping to change that fact with more planned visits.

Chrystine loves photography as much as I do, in her words, she lives to shoot not shoot to live. We both love analog photography, expired film, photographing our children and our daily lives. This blog post is to announce that Chrystine and I are working behind the scenes on a collaboration, a personal project. More information to come soon and photos too!

See more of Chrystine’s work here and here.

  • Vickie says:

    such beautiful, dreamy simplicity

  • Chrystine says:

So refreshing to see my every day life thru your fresh eyes. I love how there is a halo around your tea. xx

  • nicole peattie says:

so, so excited to see this from you. two of my faves together!

Kiva was the first stop on our road trip to Telluride this year.  We discovered Kiva Koffeehouse serendipitously last year. Seth and I were both saying how nice it would be to have a cup of coffee and I kid you not, we see a sign reading Kiva Koffeehouse. We both look at each other in surprise and turned the car around. Kiva was one of those best road trip moments, a story to share with friends and family for many years to come. We loved Kiva so much, we booked one of their two available rooms for this past trip. Next year, we plan on staying at Kiva again.

Such lovely set of pictures. Loved the way you have captured the light.

  • Vickie says:

looks gorgeous & the light in the second & third photos is awesome.

  • Andrea says:

When you get off the interstate, you can find a lot of these type of gems “hidden” away. Way cool you found one of them. If you ever make your way to Mesa Verde, there’s a little B&B about 30 minutes away. One of the cabins has it’s own pond with a panoramic mountain vista behind it.

  • Sarah Le says:

Beautiful, storytelling pictures. Makes me want to go to Telluride too! Never been to Colorado, Cindy!

  • I would love to go to a place like this, so far away from the city. It looks so peaceful and your pictures captured just that.
