slide film

I mainly shoot with color negative film as a personal preference, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try slide film.  These images are on the cooler side than what I’m used to, almost too purple and skin tend to be on the warmer orange-y side. Granted, this film is quite expired, so it’s probably not at it’s optimal color tones. I will give slide film another try, as it’s quite easy to scan and the negatives are pretty. Next time, I’ll try a roll that’s in date.

  • Oh, these are absolutely gorgeous! Also love your photos on your Tumblr site.

  • these are the tones i get with slide film too. i prefer color negative myself, too. slide film comes with too much bluish purple tones that feel too unnatural to me, and faces/skin comes in all the unnatural shades of orange. being a huge fan of all things natural, slide film is probably not for me at all.
your photos are very well done, i really like these, there is this cozy feeling “then and there” and tones seem on the natural side. but i am a big fan of your work anyway so i like anything you do 🙂

  • It’s the cooler purple-ish tones that I don’t conmpletely love and yes, the orange skin tones are not at all pleasing. I’m going to give slide a few more tries before I completely dismiss it for color negative and bw film. Thanks for stopping by my blog. 🙂

  • The first couple times I tried out slide film, mine was mega expired too and got the same exact tones. My wallet hurts too much to give it a go with some fresher stuff. 😉

  • Cindy, I’ve been following your stuff on Instagram for a while and finally decided to check out your website. Man, I’m glad I did. Your images are amazing. Colour-wise, these images may differ from what your other work has, but they’re still great shots, and the colors are fun. Great work and thanks for sharing.
